For the past 9 years our Club has hosted a virtual auction that highlights "experiences" and "services" with our fellow Rotarians as well as unique one of a kind auction items from our generous circle of friends and colleagues.

Who:  All members of the Sunrise Rotary Club of Red Deer, each member is responsible for creating “one” page to describe their personal donation of a “service” based on a minimum perceived closing bid potential of at least  $100.  Most items have an opening bid of $50 with bidding in increments of $10.
What:   A FUNdraiser showcasing each member’s unique talents, abilities, and hobbies.  With our current club membership of 23 active members, we have consistently been able to raise approximately $5000 each year with approximately 40 auction items.
When:  For a 2 week period with a launch at our May virtual breakfast meeting and wrap up at 9 pm two weeks later.   ALL bids on the closing day of the auction at reviewed at our Club Breakfast meeting to encourage bidding.
Where:  online “catalogue” built using the “32auctions” website.    This website is easy to use and there are minimal fees.   Access is based on members registering on the auction website using a secured password.
Why:  This concept of fundraising does not involve attending a function to participate.  It gives an opportunity for EVERY MEMBER to get to know other club members and spend some time with them based on what members purchase.  Our auction supports our club’s commitments to youth programs including Camp Waskaway, a new youth leadership project, Rotary Youth Camps and High School Scholarships.
