  • Thought for the day: Dave has lost his “ABCs of Rotary” book; there is a reward for returning this valuable resource.  A piece of Rotary trivia shared was that the 1st Rotary meeting was held in a lawyer’s office in Chicago in 1905. That “room” was dismantled and relocated to Rotary International Headquarters in Evanston, Illinois as a visual memory of the beginnings of Rotary.
  • Confirmed that Bill Farr has joined the Sergeant @ Arms team and will be making his debut in December.    Welcome Bill and you will be a wonderful Sarg.

  • Happy/Sad Buck$ (HB/SB)
    • Jeffrey Dawson $20   He is joining us from Fort McMurray today and very glad to be back working.   Thanks for joining us by Zoom today.

    • John Dicken $10   In addition to paying his exceptional fine he was also very pleased with his two items from the Fifty Shades Auction --  Java with a Kick by Lynn Stegman and Peddle for a Pint by Johan Steenwyk.
    • Dwaine Souveny $2+   Celebrated his daughter’s 32nd birthday yesterday in Edmonton AND turns 65 tomorrow.    Happy Birthday Dwaine.
    • Leslee Burton $2   Had a great board meeting yesterday.  Thankful for the team.

7:30 to 7:50   Program
  • Frank Bauer introduced our guest speaker, Brian Innis; Team Alex.
  • Brian shared his difficult personal story of WHY he embarked on the important work of Team Alex.  His launch of Team Alex reflects how pain can be turned into ACTION for dealing with the death of his son Alex by suicide on May 22, 2019.
  • The work of Team Alex is innovative, timely and relevant in dealing with issues of mental health.
  • You are Loved.    Three powerful words that together can help us all believe in the VISION of “a world without suicide.”
  • Frank Bauer thanked Brian for his transparency and courage in sharing the Team Alex story.   Indeed there is a terrific fit between the Rotary Four Way Test and the mission and values of Team Alex.
  • Please visit the website www.teamalex.ca for more information.
  • Barrett Grab and Ed Grose are on Set Up next week.
  • Quote from Leslee:   This is a changing world: we must be prepared to change with it.  The story of Rotary will have to be written again and again.  – Paul Harris
